EARLY-YEARS NURSERY EXTENSION IN WARRINGTON

Although we are very good at getting the most out of residential spaces and developments, we also get involved with commercial projects. This expansion to early years nursery within a very constricted space was just recently completed.

The single-storey link improves the connection between the two existing buildings on site while creating a generous addition of usable space for the nursery’s day-to-day operations and latest expansion. Alongside the new extension, existing circulation areas were partially reconfigured to allow for “dry-foot” access to all areas. Additional parking was paramount to secure the planning permission and was a bit of challenge given he limitations of the site.

During the design process, particular attention was given to the strict spatial requirements of a nursery provision and provision of ample natural light. Timing was also of the essence to ensure funding is secured and to plan the main construction works during holiday times with limited number of children and staff on site.
